Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has sought details regarding import of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
A Supreme Court judges bench, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, sought details during hearing of a suo motto case pertaining to increase in tax on petroleum products on Saturday.
Attorney General of Pakistan submitted a report regarding quality of imported products in the Supreme Court.
The court has also summoned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over provision of perks and privileges to managing director Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
The chief justice, during the hearing, asked can NAB tell the court about the probe development in the LNG case.
The chief justice remarked that the government had culture to establish new companies, induct their favorites and then benefit them.
The top court judge while calling PSO managing director remarked why not the MD should be suspended.
