Islamabad: The scarcity of water in the country has further deteriorated.
In the biggest dam Tarbela following the ending of usable storage of water, the water level has touched the dead level of 1386 feet.
According to Flood Forecasting Division in Mangla Dam too the water level has been decreasing towards dead level and according to statistics recorded today the water level in Mangla Dam is 1122 feet.
Due to less rains and non melting of glaciers the water reservoirs in July in the country could not improve. Whereas according to Indus River System Authority (IRSA) if it doesn’t rain for the next couple of days the situation will further worsen.
According to Flood Forecasting Division the inflow in Tarbela Dam today was 101000 and outflow was 95500 cusecs whereas in Mangla today inflow of water was 39000 and outflow was 69127 cusecs.
According to officials due to the decrease in the water level in the dams, the provincial quota of water will also see a decrease.
Only in Sindh at Guddu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages the scarcity of water will be 40 to 50 per cent and it is feared that rice and other crops will be affected.
