Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has disqualified the brother of former Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar and the candidate of PTI Chauhdary Muhammad Ramzan to contest election from PP-20 Toba Taik Singh on submitting false affidavit in connection with his dual nationality.
As per media reports, SC declared PTI candidate Chauhdary Muhammad Ramzan disqualified to contest general election on Thursday.
His British nationality had not expired at the time of submitting nomination papers.
SC has also indicated for initiation of contempt of court proceedings under article 204 against Chauhdary Ramzan on submitting fake affidavit.
It is to be mentioned that Chauhdary Muhammad Ramzan was the candidate of PTI from PP- 120 Toba Taik Singh.
