ZHOB: District and Sessions Judge (District Returning Officer) Nasir Khan Yousafzai administered oath to Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for the provincial and national assembly seats for the forthcoming general elections under the Elections Act 2017. The district and sessions judge of a district will serve as the DRO for that district, but in the neighboring district Sherani Deputy Commissioner will perform his duty as a DRO in the district. The oath taking ceremony took place here at District and Sessions court. The officers took oath of their responsibilities, who pledged to discharge their duties honestly to the best of their ability, faithfully, in line with the provisions of the Election Act, Election Rules and in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) with no fear and favour. Civil Judge Shakeel Ahmed Palal and Judicial Magistrate Asmatullah have been nominated as Returning Officers (ROs), while Assistant Commissioner Zhob Sheikh Asmatullah Mandokhail, Assistant Commissioner Killa Saifullah Javed Domki, Assistant Commissioner Muslim Bagh Cap ® Mehrullah Badini, District Officer Education Sherani Lal Jan Musakhail and Livestock Officer Dr. Anwer Hariphal have been nominated as Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for national assembly seat NA-257 and provincial assembly seat PB-2.
DRO on the occasion said that the ROs and AROs would ensure fair, free and impartial elections in their respective constituency. He directed them to point out sensitive polling stations and visit the polling stations before the election besides ensuring the facilities provided to voters.
On the occasion, the DRO expressed hope that the nominated officers will leave no stone unturned to ensure free and fair elections. He also urged the media to help in holding transparent election.
