Islamabad: The work is underway for the development of Gawadar city besides giving practical shape to the economic zone of Gawadar.
“ It will help make Gawadar an international and modern port. Giving practical shape to economic zones will pave the way for economic revolution in Pakistan”, it has been said in a statement issued by Secretariat authorities of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) here on Thursday.
The statement added that Gawadar city is being built as per the standard of Hong Kong and Singapore. The investors have already demonstrated tremendous interest on this count. However this city will get the status of International port soon.
The work has been started on the project of Gawadar East Bay Express way under which a road of 18.9 km long 4-lane highway will be constructed.
This highway will connect Gawadar port to Makran Coastal Highway, East Bay, Free zone and containers terminals in future.
Meanwhile, Work on special economic zone in Pakistan and China is under way. Both countries are promoting CPEC with determination through mutual cooperation by taking advantage of knowledge and expertise of each other so they may work for the development and prosperity of both countries.
