Islamabad: Voicing his serious concerns over the bloodbath of innocent civilians by Indian troops in Kashmir the Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has urged the government of Pakistan to call Security Council meeting to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in the region.

Prime Minister made these assertions while addressing a protest demonstration held outside the National Press Club here on Monday. The protest demonstration was addressed and attended by President Pakistan People’s Party AJK Chapter Ch. Latif Akbar, Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Muhammad Suffi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Sardar Farooq Sikander, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Miss Meher un Nisa, Ahmed Raza Qadri, Mrs. Naseema Wani, Hameed Lone, Afzal Butt, Almas Gardezi, Shaheen Dar and others, whereas a large number of political and civil society members were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Prime Minister lamented that it was hard to express when our brethren in occupied Kashmir were offering 20 funeral prayers of their young family members. Prime Minister demanded that Pakistan must call Security Council session against Indian aggression in occupied Kashmir besides calling joint parliamentary session to raise this issue internationally.

Prime Minister reiterated that incumbent government in AJK will call an All Parties Conference regarding this issue after consultation with Hurriyat leadership. He said that Indian army has started a series of brutal acts of violence against women, youth, and their aim was to turn the Muslim majority population into minority in held Kashmir.

He demanded that the global community should take notice of the serious violations of human rights by the Indian Army in occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister appealed to Pakistan to take steps to arrange a meeting of the Security Council so that brutal inhuman acts of Indian armed forces can be exposed to the world. He said that there was a dire need of calling a joint meeting of Parliament to show the world that every Pakistani was united on the issue of Kashmir. “We should also rejuvenate the organization of Islamic countries (OIC) in this regard”, he said adding that the electronic media must play its role to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people.
