Rawalpindi: At least two people were killed in a shooting incident at a judicial complex in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. According detail, Arshad Langra group allegedly involved in this horrific incident. The firing incident took place near the chamber of Additional Judge Aijaz Batar.
However, police stated that two men had arrived at the complex for a hearing but near the entrance of judicial complex a shooting incident occurred which claimed life of two persons.
The accused including the former leader of MSF Cantt Mathallha, Ahsan Ali Sherazi and Shoaib brought to judicial complex for hearing their case. As soon the accused entered at the complex building Arshad Langra group member fired fire on them.
Soon after the incident RPO and CPO Rawalpindi reached at the spot and immediately shut the judicial complex doors. Later case has been registered in civil line police station.
On the other hand the legal community has expressed its dismay over poor security arrangements at courts’ premises particularly after withdrawal of snipers from the area.
The community has demanded from the district administration to take immediate notice of the situation and take proper security measures by deploying personnel of Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) to ensure protection of judges and lawyers as well as the hundreds of litigants visiting the area everyday to pursue their legal affairs.
