ISLAMABAD: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai Wednesday proposed to form a commission comprising judges, military generals and politicians to end corruption from the country.
Speaking to media at Parliament House in Islamabad, the veteran politician said that Nawaz Sharif is only talking about supremacy of the law and all stakeholders should deliberate about it. Corruption is at peak in this country which needs to be eliminated at the earliest , he added.
Mehmood Khan Achakzai claimed that corruption is among every sector including politicians, generals, journalists and judges as no one is clean in the system. He further said that only Sharif family or politicians are not corrupts, adding that those who are talking about to end corruption are only targeting Nawaz Sharif at a time when country is facing challenges on many fronts. He said that it was beyond his understanding that why only those forces are targeting Nawaz Sharif instead of focusing on external challenges.
The veteran leader was of the opinion that many secret and security agencies are working in the country but why they don’t find out culprits of May 12 massacre when innocent people were targeted during the reign of former president Pervez Musharraf. He further stated that there was no development in the case despite passage of ten years.
Condemning the model town incident, he said that those who don’t condemn this incident cannot be human. He, however, said that he is against to use such incidents for political point scoring; demanding culprits should be brought to justice.
Achakzai said that that Tahirul Qadri is dual nationality holder and attacked parliament house in the past. He further said that the agenda of his arrival and protest in Lahore would be cleared in coming few days.
The PKAMP leader said that there are video proofs of attack on parliament but no investigation carried out in last four years. In reply to a question he said that it was his only party which fought in Baluchistan Assembly while members of ruling PML-N ran away. He added that Hasil Bazinjo’s party supported the opponents by not participating in the voting process. He clarified that he didn’t get any financial benefits and he is ready to accept any punishment if anyone proves corruption against him.
