Islamabad: On the eve of new year, the government increased the prices of petrol by Rs. 4.06 per liter and the new price of the petrol will be Rs. 81.53 per liter for the month of January.

The Ministry of Finance on Sunday announced the increased in the prices of the petroleum products after getting approval from the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr, Miftah Ismail while announcing the new prices of the petroleum products said that due to increase in the price of these products at the international market Pakistan had to increase the prices in the country. He contended that still the petroleum prices in Pakistan are less than the prices in India, Bangladesh and Turkey.
Giving details about the new prices, Dr. Miftah Ismail said the price of High Speed Diesel Oil has also been increased by Rs. 3.69 per liter and its new price will be Rs. 89.91 per liter.
The price of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs. 6.79 per liter and its new price will be Rs. 64.30 per liter. The price of Light Speed Diesel Oil has been increased by Rs. 6.25 per liter and the new price of the LSD will be Rs. 89.91 per liter. The new prices will be applicable after midnight on Sunday.
