Islamabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that the government was committed to bring real change in the region and to strengthen the constitution and rule of law.

Prime Minister expressed his views in a meeting with Federal Minister for Saffron General Retired Abdul Qadir Baloch here on Friday. He said that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure merit and transparency at all levels. “A comprehensive policy has been set up for utilizing rich resources for the uplift of common masses and measures are being taken on the government level to attract foreign investment”.

Referring to massive economic potential of Azad Kashmir, the PM AJK maintained that there were vast opportunities for investments in the fields of hydropower, tourism and minerals in AJK, adding that he said that under the CPEC the Mansehra, Muzaffarabad to Mirpur (MMM Expressway), is in process whose construction will be on international standards and boost tourism within the State.

While expressing his concerns over the political situation in Pakistan, Raja Farooq Haider Khan said, ‘‘The only means of achieving power is through the public with their vote, there is no any other shortcut to get power; culture of protests and sit-in in politics is not in the interest of the country”.

‘‘Kashmir problem is a serious threat to peace in South Asia. India is an open enemy of Pakistan, which does not spare any opportunity to destabilize Pakistan.’’ Prime Minister reiterated. “Pakistan is the only hope and support for Kashmiris in their just struggle against Indian occupation”, he said.

Prime Minister stated that the incumbent government has put the country back on the path of progress and economic prosperity saying that cabinet has worked hard and launched many mega projects in short span of time.

“CPEC will change the country’s fate. It is important for domestic development and prosperity that political stability in the country is being promoted. Political leadership will have to prioritize social interest more than political interest”, Prime Minister added.

He said that the incumbent Government of Pakistan has highlight Kashmir issue international level in a befitting manner. He stated that the budget of Azad Kashmir has been doubled for the construction of many mega projects and “I am grateful to Federal government for timely release of funds.’’
