MIRPUR (AJK): While observing 50th death anniversary of veteran Kashmiri leader Ch. Ghulam Abbas. Abbas, Kashmiris living on both sides of the line of control on Monday paid rich tributes to the pioneering leader who stood up against the oppression and the autocratic rule and led his countrymen on the path of freedom and a life of respect and dignity.

Symposiums, seminars and memorial cum prayer gatherings were held in various parts of AJK and Pakistan to pay homage to Quaid-e-Kashmir who played an indomitable role in the freedom struggle. Special meetings were held at almost all AJK districts including Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bhimber, Bagh, Sudhanoti and Rawalakot to pay glorious tributes to late leader for his remarkable services for the Kashmir freedom movement. Speakers on the occasion paid rich tributes to the founder leader of the Kashmir freedom movement coupled with renewal of the pledge and determination to follow his foot prints for the completion of his mission of the liberation of occupied Jammu Kashmir state from the Indian tyrannical rule.

In Mirpur, a prayer meeting was held here early Friday morning to pray for the rest of the departed soul in eternal peace besides to mark the death anniversary of Ch. Ghulam Abbas was held under the auspices of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference.

Speakers including the local Muslim Conference leader Shakoor Mughal and others vowed to continue the mission of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas to get occupied land of Jammu & Kashmir from Indian clutches and translate the idea of accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan in to reality.

Major ceremony to observe the day was held, at the mausoleum of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas at Faizabad Rawalpindi under the auspices of Azad Jammu Kashmir government and the Muslim Conference.

Pakistan, speakers continued, is incomplete without its jugular vein-Kashmir. They said that the mission of the pioneers of the Kashmir freedom movement could be translated into reality only if we sincerely act upon their sayings and foot prints with a fresh and renewed determination.

Speakers called for early settlement of the Kashmir problem in line with the aspirations of the Jammu & Kashmir people and to ensure the emergence of ever-lasting and durable peace in South Asia.

Speakers vehemently condemned the continued New Delhi-sponsored state terrorism against the innocent Kashmiris in Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir to suppress their struggle for liberation from the long Indian rule. They called upon the world community especially the super forces and international forums besides the world coalition against terrorism to immediately intervene to get the Indian state terrorism stopped in occupied Jammu Kashmir and to ensure the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue through the tripartite dialogue among India, Paksitan and true leadership of Jammu & Kashmir state for the early grant of the much-awaited right to self determination to the Kashmiri people through brining the Kashmiris indigenous struggle for freedom to its logical end, they added.

A large number of people including the Muslim Conference activists from various parts of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan visited the mausoleum of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas in Rawalpindi and offered fateha for the departed soul besides offering special prayer for the early success of the Kashmir freedom movement and accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan.
