KABUL: Gunmen attack a training center of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Kabul, clashes are ongoing.
Gunmen are hiding in a building which is under construction close to a training center of the NDS and are targeting the center, eyewitnesses said.
There are no reports on casualties and the security forces have arrived in the area. A private TV channel of Afghanistan said between five and six gunmen are hiding in a building and clashing with the security forces.
The gunmen are using heavy weapons and fighting is still ongoing in the area. The security forces have surrounded the area and ambulances are at the scene. Local security officials have not yet provided details of casualties.
In the meantime, a security source confirmed to Afghan TV channel that no one has been hurt in the attack and the Special Forces have now surrounded the gunmen at the besieged building. No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
