Islamabad: (Parliament Times) As International Day of Person with disabilities is marked today, Youth Governor KP National Youth Assembly Muhammad Amar Khan has called for the provision of facilities to Special Persons in Pakistan like that of developed countries.

The special persons in the country are far behind in facilities available to those in the developed countries as even the two person quota for special persons in jobs and educational institutions is not implemented in letter and spirit, complained Muhammad Amar Khan, who is the Youth Governor of KP National Youth Assembly (NYA).

He complained that there was no ramp for walking of the special persons in the educational institutions and even at major hospitals of the Province Capital, let alone other facilities. He said that special persons are facing great hardships when they visit government departments and offices in connection to their problems. He said that the government should establish technical educational institutions and skill development centers so that they improve their skills and become productive citizens to earn this livelihood respectfully.

Muhammad Amar Khan said that the two percent quota for special persons in educational institutions and jobs should be increased to five percent and this should be implemented in true letter and spirit. He said that the best way to mark the International Disability Day is to announce the special incentives for persons with special needs as they are blessed with talent. And their urge to study should be maximized by minimizing the hurdles and poverty that they face in their way. Last but not the least, Muhammad Amar Khan also urged for the allocation of reserved seats in National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan for the persons with disabilities so that their representation may also be marked in Supreme Institutions of the country.
