“Says it is deplorable that a section of media is distorting facts in the backdrop of martyrdoms in Kashmir”

Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) While rejecting media reports that the AJK President attended cultural performances in London, the AJK president office here on Tuesday regrettably noted that a section of media was distorting facts besides casting aspersions on the President whose conduct and integrity were above board.

“The reports in a section of media that the President attended the cultural performances are not correct. It is clarified that the President left the venue as soon as the cultural segment of the programme started; and did not have even dinner with the host”, the statement said adding that the sole purpose of the UK visit of the President was to raise awareness about the human right violations of the Kashmiri people by the Indian occupation forces at the international level.

The statement said, “It is deplorable that a section of media is distorting facts in the backdrop of martyrdoms in Kashmir as a result of Indian indiscriminate firing across the LoC yesterday, and is trying to cast aspersions on the President, whose conduct and integrity are above board”.

The statement maintained that the event was organised by the London based organisation Quest for Education (QFE) to support education in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan. The well attended event was addressed by the President AJK, amongst others, by Mr David Green, the Patron of QFE, Dr Ahson Umer, Chairman QFE, dignitaries and community members.
