Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected federal government request seeking two days more time for ending sit in of religious parties at Faizabad interchange and has issued contempt of court show cause notice to Capital’s administration..
The case against sit-in of religious parties at Faizabad interchange came before IHC Judge justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui Monday who later summoned interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and secretary interior.
When Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal appeared before court, the learned judge expressed resentment over non implementation of court’s orders and questioned why the court orders could not be implemented? Upon it we issue contempt of court notice just now.
Interior minister replied court orders are being implemented , however, we fear that use of force may lead to blood shed.
Interior minister prayed the court to give 48 hours more for ending the dharna in peaceful manner.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked “being a judge I am custodian of basic rights of million of people.
Deputy Attorney General took the peal that political leadership is holding talks with protestors .
On it justice Siddiqui observed, “About 4000 to 5000 people are usurping the rights of all of citizens and what they are demanding actually is not the job of law enforcement agencies to think about it”.
Judge further remarked that the real issue is of peace and security and “We will not allow rights of millions of people to be encroached upon.
What is the fault of traders, students and patients as this all matter happened due to negligence and connivance of Islamabad administration, Judge observed.
Deputy Attorney General said there are some things which could not be told in the open court.
On it learned judge remarked that whatever you want to say you should say in the open court and you would have to say that protestors have weapons and stones in their possession.

The court while adjourning the hearing of the case till November 23 issued show cause notices of contempt of court to IG Islamabad, chief commissioner and interior secretary.
