Muzaffarabad: AJK Minister for Rehabilitation and Transport Nasir Hussain Dar has said that efforts were under way to evolve a compressive policy for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants settled in and outside Azad Kashmir.

Dar made these remarks while addressing a meeting, which was held to review the progress on Rehabilitation process of migrants here on Thursday. Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Commissioner Rehabilitation, Secretary Board of Revenue and other officers were present in the meeting.
Minister on the occasion directed the officer to make and submit the report of migrants settled in Pakistan including migrants of 1989-90 within 7 days adding that provision of basic facilities such as drinking water, roads, electricity and corridors should be considered on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nasir Hussain Dar said, “Migrants of Kashmir are the part of our body but their rehabilitation process is not pleasing; government of AJK is planning to design a comprehensive policy in this regard.”
He said that a proper monitoring system has been introduced to monitor development projects that will boost the development process.
Minister for Transport reiterated that all necessary measures should be taken for the betterment of department.
“Govt. of Punjab has given a development package to migrants of Jhang owing to efforts of Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan” Nasir Dar added.
