Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched massive cordon and search operations in Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir, causing immense inconvenience to the people.

The troops have cordoned off over a dozen villages of the districts including Keller, Qasbayar, Batpora, Gulabteng, Maspora, Bamnoo, Mirpora, Kellar, Check, Nadepora. The troops have sealed all entry and exit points of these areas and are conducting house-to-house searches.

The troops also carried out door-to-door searches in old town areas of Baramulla. Later, the troops called off the operation.

Meanwhile, the Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Chairperson, Zamrooda Habib in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the night raids, cordon and search operations in the villages of south and north Kashmir and harassment of the entire population of the areas.

She also expressed concern over barging into the house during night and damaging household items by CRPF and other forces in all most every village of north and South Kashmir.

Zamrooda condemned the re-arrest of senior Hurriyat leader, Masarat Aalam Butt and also expresses concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori.

She appealed to the international community to take serious note of the human rights violations by Indian forces in the occupied territory.
