Muzaffarabad: Minister for Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani has said that the unresolved dispute of Kashmir has been a constant threat to peace in South Asia saying that the dream of lasting peace in the region would remain illusive unless the lingering dispute was settled in line with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Barrister Iftikhar Gilani made these assertions while addressing the participants of 24th Mid-Carrier Management Course (MCMC) Quetta here on Monday. The event was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell. “India wants to set up its supremacy in South Asia by blocking paths of economic and defense development in Pakistan”, he said adding that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has shattered all the dreams of India.

Minister for Education was the chief guest of the event and answered different questions put forth by delegates. He said that the Government of Azad Kashmir has taken steps to provide basic facilities and infrastructure in the region, despite limited financial resources. He said that Kashmiri are the main party to the dispute and Government of Azad Kashmir should be empowered to highlight this issue in its historical perspective.
He further said that there was dire need to develop public opinion in Pakistan for highlighting the various aspects of Kashmir issue and the ideology of Kashmir with Pakistan and its role on national media.
At the end of the ceremony a shield was presented to the head of the delegation by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell. Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell also thanked the Minister of State and presented him a commemorative shield.
