Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran khan has challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC) the non-bailable arrest warrants issued against him by Election commission in contempt of court case.

Election commission and Akbar S Babar have been made respondents in the petition.
PTI Leader through Babar Awan Advocate has filed a petition in IHC while taking the plea that ECP has no authority to issue non-bailable arrest warrants of Imran khan and issuance of non-bailable arrst warrants against PTI Chief on October 12 was unconstitutional.
Petitioner stated that issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants by election commission caused mental discomfort to Khan.
Petitioner while praying the court to set aside the order of ECP regarding issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants against PTI Chief stated political rival’s too are criticizing Imran khan after election commission has issued his arrest warrants’.
It is vital to mention here that ECP had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against PTI Chief on October 12 in contempt of court case while ordering the police to arrest and present him before it on October 26
