Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) While reiterating his resolve to promote quality of education at higher level the vice-chancellor AJK University Professor Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abassi has said that necessary arrangements would be made with a view to enhance the standard of education thereby following the policies of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Prof. Abassi made these remarks while addressing Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) meeting here on Monday. The meeting was attended by QEC Director Dr. Rafiq Ahmed Mir, Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qayum Khan, Dean Arts Faculty Dr. Ayesha Suhail, Registrar Shabir Ahmed Abassi and others.

Appreciating the QEC’s performance the vice chancellor said that through QEC concerted efforts would be made to ensure good governance across all the disciplines of the varsity. Stressing the need for adopting international standard for imparting quality education he said, “Our competition is not with any of the universities of Pakistan, however, we should try our level best to make sure that quality education is impaired in the veracity as per the international standards”. He said that it was also important that education reforms should be implemented in letter and spirit.
The QEC director on the occasion briefed the meeting about the matters relating to the facility’s education and research activities. Mir also proposed suggestions regarding the HEC’s Review Committee visit relating to MPhil, PhD programs.
