Lahore: The Punjab University annual admissions to MA/M.Sc and BS Honor (4 year) programme for academic session 2017-18 will start from today Monday September 18 to 28.
VC Prof Zaffar Mueen Nasar while talking to a delegation of faculty member said here Sunday that all admission would be made strictly on merit and committee headed by most senior Dean Faculty of Engineering Prof Dr.
Muhammad Taqi Zahid Butt would check the overall process of fresh admission in all disciplines. He said merit lists would be displayed according to schedule on notice boards and websites of each teaching departments by the Directors, chairpersons and heads of the departments concerned.
He said first time in the history of the varsity since its inception on October 12, 1882, all out hectic efforts had been made at all levels to fully ensure transparent admission without succumbing to any pressure from any quarter.
He said that affidavit to be submitted by all successful candidates has also been modified wherein they would be bound to abide by law of land and refraining from indulging in any anti-state activities directly and indirectly.
About PhD and M.Phil admissions, he said he personally visited
all departments and supervised the process of admission and by the
grace of Allah, all candidates who obtained requisite marks in entry test were given admission purely on merit.
