Muzaffarabad: A friendly match was held between President XI and Wounded Tigers UK XI under the aegis of department of sports, youth and culture in University Campus Chehla ground here on Wednesday.

Minister for Sports Youth and Culture Ch. Muhammad Saeed was the chief guest of the event.

President XI won the toss and chooses to bat first and scored 165 runs in 20 overs while UK XI scored only 130 runs in 20 overs.President XI won the match by 35 runs. Prime Minister XI players include MLA Dr. Mustafa Bashir, Deputy Comissioner Rawalakot Raja Tahir Mumtaz, Azhar Mughal, Saleem Sethi, Naeem Bismil, Waqas Hamdani, Raja Bilawal, Amir Latif, Tassaduq Gillani, Khawaja Usman and Rashid Awan.

Wounded Tigers UK XI players consists of Peter Oborne, James Oborne, Thomas Oborne, Kashif Yamin, Richard Ashheton, Nicolas Taylor, Mujeeb Gallagher, Allexander Massie, Duncan Grehan, Micheal French and Thomas Gibbs.

On the occasion, Ch. Muhammad Saeed motivated the international guests and said that this event have diminished the fear for international visitors to visit Pakistan.

He said,” state government is equally co-operating with Federal to strengthen sports activities within the state and restoration of International cricket in Pakistan.”

He said that visit of International communities to AJK and inauguration of these activities spreads the message around the globe that AJK is a peaceful region.

“We invited these players to Pakistan and they came on their own expenses, these are the efforts of PML.N that international cricket is back in our country”, Saeed Added.

Department of Sports Youth and Culture organized the whole event and also hosted the guests came from United Kingdom.

Players of Wounded Tigers UK XI along with other international visitors thanked AJK government and Ministry for Sports Youth and Culture for their warm welcome and hospitality during their visit to AJK.
