Lahore: At least 34 suspected persons have been rounded up during search operations in different areas of Lahore before the arrival of disqualified ex-Premier Nawaz Sharif.

On a tip-off, police conducted search operations in Nawan Kot, Lower Mall, Ravi Road, Sanda, Larri Adda, Ghalib Market, Maseerabad and Kot Lakhpat areas of the Lahore on Wednesday.

Police conducted checking of the hotels, bus stands, hostels and flats in these localities, while biometric device was used to check the identification of the residents.

At least 34 persons were taken into custody who failed to produce any identity document. The detainees have been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the police have also condoned off the route of PML-N rally and started checking of suspect vehicles in the city.
