ISLAMABAD: Preparations to mark the 70th independence anniversary of Pakistan and birth of Radio Pakistan are in full swing.

Media channels have made elaborate arrangements to mark the anniversary in a befitting, memorable, and distinguished manner.

Special promos have been prepared to highlight the struggle of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with excerpts from his speeches, freedom movement, role of Pakistan activists, sacrifices rendered by Muslims while migrating to their new homeland, and the challenges faced by a fledgling nation.

News and Current Affairs Channel will broadcast special talk shows, seminars and workshops before, during and after the 14th of August. Eminent personalities of society will be interviewed or discussed during these programmes.

The programmes of News and Current affairs will also depict the culture of all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan in the form of songs, folklores and autobiographies.

The achievements of the government in economic, social, political and cultural fronts will also be discussed during the special transmissions.

Another important feature of these programmes will be the sacrifices given by the security forces to rid the country of the menace of terrorism.

Studios, galleries and public areas of Radio Pakistan building have been decorated with life size portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, freedom leaders, and flags of the country.
