ISLAMABAD : Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has on Tuesday said that the more this case will be opened by the government, the more this government will get trapped.

While talking to the media outside the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, Syed Khurshid Shah said new things came out when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT), and if Volume 10 of its report is made public then Nawaz will face more embarrassment.

Shah advised the premier to not further go in the depth of this case, and predicted that it will not continue for more than a week.

The opposition leader said the incumbent government itself is the biggest threat to parliament and democracy at the moment, and the role of the apex court should not be questioned.

On a question, Shah responded that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) did not make any objection when its own prime minister was disqualified, and it will accept SC decision this time also.

He further said that this accountability should not be limited to politicians and rulers only, bureaucrats and retired generals should also be held accountable.

PPP central Punjab General Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan announced to support institutions which protect the law and the constitution of this country. He let it be known that he is not leaving PPP, and said he does not do politics on the base of relationships.

An interesting dialogue also took place between Nadeem Chan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali in the premises of the Supreme Court.

When Nadeem Afzal Chan saw Abid Sher Ali, the PPP leader remarked that he is standing there for the state minister so that no one could say anything to him, or throw rotten eggs at him. Abid also shook hands with Chan and other PPP leaders.
