Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Due to delay in Water Supply Networking Project for the last two months, the residents living besides Benazir Bhutto International Airport are facing severe water shortage for drinking and other purpose.

According to sources, the WASA is sending the water bills frequently to residents Shah Kahlid Colony area, Fazal Town, Tajabad and adjoining areas, however, water is hardly supplied to them.

The work on Water Supply Networking Project was started, however, the project is facing delayed due to unknown reasons for the last two months. With project not completed on time, the people have been facing severe problem in walking on mud and their clothes gets dirty after passing through the area. Moreover, problems for residents have increased after the commencing of monsoon rainfall season in Rawalpindi Division.

Shah Kahlid Colony area, Fazal Town, Tajabad are very concerned about the issue and travelling lot of miles just to get water for daily usage. Persons wandering for filtration plant lashed out the authorities for continuously delaying the Water supply networking Project by saying that now we to have to leave our jobs just fill water from filtration plants as we are standing in long queues for hours.

An official associated with District Government said that authorities were informed about the various problems faced by the residents, however, no initiatives are being taken by people responsible for completing the project on time.
