Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) The Allied hospitals located in Rawalpindi are facing shortage of Rabies vaccines.
Several announcements have been made by district Government, TMA, health department and cantonment authorities to take steps for elimination of stray dogs in Rawalpindi Division.
The number of stray dogs is increasing day by day in Cha Sultan, Chakala Road, Mohalla Mahmood Ali Shah, Qasimabad, Dhok Khabba, Milat Colony, Amarpura, RA Mohalla, Dhok Charag Din, Dhok Farman Ali, Dhok Feroz Din, Sadiqabad, Khayban-e- Sir Syed and adjoining areas of Rawalpindi.
Several dog biting incidents have been reported in last one month, where stray dogs have attacked citizens. Over 20 incidents of dog-biting is reported every day.
Chairman Action Committee Zaheer Ahmed Awan along with other citizens Chaudhry Zulqarnain, Asim Shabeer Hussain have criticized authorities by saying that no steps have been take to resolve this issue.
