Islamabad:(Parliament times) Urging philanthropist to donate generously for the welfare of orphan children, the acting president of Al-Khidmat Foundation Raja Jehangir Khan has said that sponsorship of orphan children was not only a matter of great reward but an unprecedented undertaking.
Khan made these assertions while addressing a function held at a local hotel here on Sunday. Held in connection with World Orphan Day the function organized by Al-Khidmat Foundation was attended by philanthropists, social activists, journalists as well as the office bearers of the AK Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion the AKF acting president said that the AKF was running orphanage (orphan care home) under the banner of Aagosh wherein the orphans were being provided all the basic amenities and better education facilities to make them useful members of the society. He said that philanthropists and particularly the economically privileged people of the society should come forward in a big way to help out the needy and destitute ones. He said that the philanthropists should donate generously for the welfare of orphan children.
Speaking on the occasion the Atta ur Rehman Chohan the secretary General of AKF said that AKF foundation was working throughout the country. He appealed the people to support the Foundation in its noble cause. The AKNS president Amer Mehboob appreciated the AKF for providing shelter and other basic amenities to the orphan children.
The AK Foundation also hosted Iftar Diner in honour of the participants. Of those who were present on the occasion included Amtiaz Abasi, Javed Iqbal Chudhary, Khawaja Mateen, Bashir Usmani, Ejaz Abasi, Shahzad Rathore and others.
