Srinagar:(Parliament Times) Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and her associate, Fehmeeda Sofi.According to KMS, DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar said that despite court orders, the shameless puppet regime had not released the detained leaders. Aasiya Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi were arrested on April 26 when a police party led by SHO of Soura police station barged into Aasiya Andrabi’s residence at midnight and since then both leaders have been languishing in Rambagh women’s police station in Srinagar.Nahida Nasreen said that on May 9, the bail orders were submitted in the police station concerned but the party leaders were not released. “When the family members asked the SHO concerned about the reason behind not releasing Aasiya Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi despite court orders, the SHO refused to say anything,†she said. The rejection of court orders by the police clearly reflects how much courts are respected in Kashmir, she added.DeM General Secretary said that Kashmir had been turned into a police state directly controlled by Indian forces. She said that the health condition of Aasiya Andrabi had deteriorated to an alarming proportion in the police station and no medical facility was being provided to her. Nahida Nasreen also strongly condemned the slapping of draconian law Public Safety Act 35th time on senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt. “This exposes the fake Indian democracy. Even the rules of jungle are better than Indian rules,†she said. She urged the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of Indian brutalities against the people of occupied Kashmir.
