ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Editor in Chief Daily Country News, Sardar Hameed in collaboration with Amjid Chaudhry arranged a ceremony in the honour of AJK Minister for Information, Tourism, and IT Mushtaq Minhas and President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Afzal Butt here in a hotel in Islamabad on Monday.
In his well coming address, Sardar Hameed thanked all the guests for attending ceremony. He paid special thanks to Mushtaq Minhas and Afzal Butt for giving chunk of moments from their busy routine. He lauded the steps taken by both the guests for the well being of journalism and rights of journalists. He reminded President PFUJ that journalists who made his success possible are considering him as a guardian of their rights.
While lauding the services of Mushtaq Minhas, he said that when he was a journalist he did his best for the well being of the journalists and now when he has joined politics and has become the Minister he is continuously working for the development of Kashmir. Being an Information Minister, he is working for the betterment of journalists due to which they consider him their real sympathizer, he added.
Sardar Hmeed said that due to the efforts of Mushtaq Minhas and Afzal Butt, we got an international standard National Press Club and Media town. They played a vital role in bringing journalists out of inferiority complex. Journalists’ children were not able to get admissions in government schools, but now our children are studying in well reputed schools like Beaconhouse and others the credit of which goes to Mushtaq Minhas. His services will be remembered for a long time, he added.
Speaking at the occasion, Mustaq Minhas assured that being a minister he will continuously do his level best for the well being of journalists as I have been working in past. He also assured to strengthen press foundation in Kashmir,
President PFUJ, Afzal Butt assured the participants that PFUJ is working for solving all the issues related to the journalists. PFUJ will announce its strategy for the well being and protection of journalists soon, he added.
