Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi has said that the rejection of farce elections by Kashmiri people has frightened and frustrated Indian government and its puppets and they have been forced to postpone the polling in south Kashmir.

Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said, people have clearly shown that India stands rejected in Kashmir. “Complete boycott observed by the people wasn’t against a particular party but a verdict against illegal Indian control of the territory,” she said.

She said announcing re-election at 38 booths on Thursday (April 13) in Badgam was yet another ploy of Indian government to further oppress people in the territory. Isn’t it questionable that when these sham elections have been deferred in south Kashmir, why they have announced re-poling in Badgam that too on April 13? she questioned.

“Mehbooba Mufti too has got a lesson that the five percent she talked about are those who are with India and the rest are with the movement. These five percent include the families of these Indian agents and their workers. Rest of the Kashmiri people are with resistance movement and want an end to Indian control as soon as possible,” she added.

Meanwhile, condemning the killings in central Kashmir, the Awami Action Committee (AAC), headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement termed it atrocious, barbaric and state-sponsored genocide.

“AAC further denounces the use of atrocious force against the youth during which more than 100 people were injured, some of them sustaining injuries in their eyes,” the AAC spokesman said, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

On the instruction of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a delegation of the party visited those areas of Badgam where Indian troops killed the youth. Another delegation visited various hospitals in Srinagar and inquired about the well being of those who were injured during the forces’ action in Badgam district on Sunday.
