ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) The Chairman OPF Board of Governors, Barrister Amjad Malik lauded the efforts of Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Hafiz Ahsan Ahmed Khokhar and hoped that both the organizations will play effective role to resolve grievances of Pakistani expatriates at maximum level.

The Chairman expressed these views while talking to Grievance Commissioner and Advisor to Federal Ombudsman who called on him at his office. The Chairman welcomed Dr. Fiaz Ranjha on his new assignment as an Advisor to Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan.

The Chairman informed the Grievance Commissioner that OPF has established a 137-members Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council (OPAC) to get feedback and suggestions from diaspora to

furnish policies in future. The Chairman said that he himself and other Board Members of OPF have visited various countries and met with Pakistani expatriates to get firsthand information about their
issues and problems abroad. He further informed that OPF Board of Governors in its recent meeting has unanimously approved visit of Board Members to five states of Gulf region including United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar to get feedback from Pakistani expatriates and to get in-depth knowledge about problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis.

The Chairman said that OPF is striving hard to provide maximum services to overseas Pakistanis in all walks of life. He informed that OPF has approved Rs. 100 million for scholarships for children

of overseas Pakistanis besides granting approval of Rs. 30 million for internship program for children of Pakistani expatriates. He said that provision of more facilities and resolution of problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis is the top most priority of the government of Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Grievance Commissioner, Hafiz Ahsan Ahmed Khokhar appreciated the services rendered by Chairman OPF, Board of Governors and hoped that OPF will deliver more in the leadership of Barrister Amjad Malik. He also appreciated the holding of International Seminar by OPF and observed that such seminars should also be organized in future as well.
