Islamabad: (Parliament Times) President Mamnoon Hussain has emphasized the need of coordination among the physicians, pharmaceutical manufacturers and regulatory authorities to ensure the provision of affordable treatment and medicines to the public.
He was talking to a delegation of Ombudsman Medicine Committee led by Federal Ombudsman Mohammad Salman Farooqi in Islamabad on Friday.
He said that provision of affordable treatment and medicines is the fundamental duty of the state and it should be fulfilled with the spirit of worship.
The President directed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures for implementation of recommendations of Ombudsman Report.
Mamnoon Hussain said that pharmaceutical companies should also fulfill their due role in manufacturing of medicine in order to ease common treatment.
Later, the Federal Ombudsman Salman Farooqi made farewell meeting with the President in President House.
President appreciated the services of Mohammad Salman Farooqi as federal ombudsman and said these positive measures will be continued in the future.
