Kotli: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has reiterated his resolve to hold local bodies’ elections in the state to devolve the powers to gross root level.
Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour at the residence of Malik Muhammad Yusaf by PML-N workers, he said prime objective of the local bodies’ elections is to directly involve the youth in decision making process.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan said twenty five percent quota is being allocated for the youth in upcoming local bodies’ election in the state.
He said Pakistan Muslim League(N) would continue with its policy of merit as it was right way to govern and serve the people, added that there would be no compromise on merit in appointment, promotions and transfers of government employees.
He said Prime Minister, Muhammed Nawaz Sharif was known for his mega development projects and nobody could accuse him of corruption. He said that the journey towards development would be continued in future as well and special funds will be allocated for public welfare projects in the next state budget so that balanced development could be made in all areas of the AJK.
He said that development resources are being utilized on the welfare of the masses in a highly transparent and organized manner and the development work executed during the last seven months has started to raise the living standard of the people.
The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Khan distributed laptops among 30 talented students at Kotli University of Science & Information Technology.
While addressing the laptops distribution ceremony as chief guest, the prime minister said that effective steps were being taken for the promotion of information technology that was the need of the hour. He added that information technology labs had been set up by spending millions of rupees in schools across the AJK. Earlier the Voice Chancellor Dr Ghulam Ghose briefed the prime minister about ongoing educational programs at the University.
Meanwhile addressing a meeting of heads of the district departments before leaving for Churhoi here on Friday ,Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that his government is paying attention to the provision of education and health facilities to the people and besides setting up new hospitals and educational institutions in the state , the standard of existing health centers and educational institutions is also being improved.Bureaucracy is responsible for provision of good services to the masses as 80% of the total budget is being spent on the salaries and other privileges of civil servants.
The prime minister said service of people was the manifesto of his party and it would continue to implement its programme and contrary to the bad governance in AJK, would govern in a transparent manner.
He said capable political workers would be given opportunity in the local government elections in AJK. AJK ministers Raja Mushtaq Minhas and Sardar Farooq Sikandir were also present on the occasion.
Minister for Information Raja Mushtaq Minhas,MLA Raja Naseer Khan, host Malik Muhammad Yusaf,Malik Saleem,Raja Ayub,Malik Hanif Malik and others also spoke on the occasion.
Later in the afternoon, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan administered oath to the newly elected body of the Tehsil Bar Association Chirhoi.
AJK Information minister Mushtaq Minhas , minister for Revenue Sardar Farooq Sakander Khan, Raja Muhammad Iqbal Kahan ,Raja Munawar Khan ,Raja Mushtaqa Ahmad Khan,Raja Muhammad Afzal Khan,Ch Akaram Chattha ,Ch Naseer,Raja Shabir ,Sardar Waleed ,Raja Insar Mahmmod,Syed Naheem Arshad ,Ch Raiz and others participated in the oath taking ceremony.
