Five Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom after terrorists attacked three Pakistani posts in Mohmand Agency. However, the alert and valiant soldiers of the Pakistan Army effectively repulsed the attack mowing down around a fifteen terrorists from Afghanistan. According to report a group of terrorists from Afghanistan launched assault on three Pakistani check-posts in the Mohmand agency with sophisticated weapons on the night between Sunday and Monday. Though the highly alert troops effectively engaged the miscreants and retaliated the attack with full might, the exchange of fire left as many as five soldiers of the Pakistan Army martyred. The shootout also resulted in the killing of at least fifteen attackers including six most wanted terrorists and wounding twenty, while others managed to flee. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated Pakistan Army’s befitting response to the terrorist attack. He said the terrorists are a common enemy and coordinated efforts are required to check free movement of terrorists on the border.Funeral prayers of the five Pakistan Army troops, who were martyred in terrorists attack in Mohmand Agency, were offered in Peshawar on Monday.The Pakistani authorities have recorded strong protest against Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Deputy Head of Mission Abdul Nasir Yousafi was summoned by the foreign office on Monday and the authorities gave him in writing there grave concern and strong protest was expressed over the cross border aggression and martyrdom of Pakistani troops.While the militants from the neighbouring Afghanistan have been crossing into Pakistani territory for the last many years and lunching assaults both on the security forces as well as the local people mostly in Bajaur and Mohmand agencies and Dir district, the Afghan National Army also spare no opportunity to launch assaults on the Pakistani security forces striving to restore the state writ in the region In the process large number of men in uniform and the innocent locals including female and children have been killed by the intruders though in retaliatory fire the Pakistani security forces also mowed down scores of miscreants from the other side of the border. The Military authorities as well as the Pakistani government have been lodging strong protest with the previous Afghan government over this naked aggression asking those at the helm of affairs to check the ambushes launched by the miscreants from their safe heavens inside Afghanistan, but the US influenced Afghan government never paid heed to this serious and continued violation of the territorial integrity of the neighbouring Pakistan. The Afghan government instead of adopting the corrective measures always only resorted to blame game and attempted to hold Pakistan responsible for the unrest in the region. Pakistan Army is rendering great sacrifices for bringing peace and stability in the country. The martyrs of Pak Army are real heroes of the nation. They sacrificed their lives for the security of the country. The Afghan government should stop playing in the hand of others and take firm action against terrorists operating from its soil to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Cooperation between Pakistan and Afghan is compulsory for the elimination of terrorism. Both countries should take steps for effective border management to prevent cross-border movement of terrorists.
