Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has announced to observe Kashmir Resistance Day across the territory, tomorrow, on Friday.

The leadership in a joint statement issued in Srinagar called for the strike to protest the biased decision of death sentence by a court in Kolkata against Muzaffar Ahmad Rather of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The leadership urged Imams of masjids to lead protests against the judicial injustice after the Friday congregational prayers, tomorrow.

APHC General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in his statement hoped that people would hold forceful demonstrations in protest against the tyranny of Indian judiciary.

Meanwhile, APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, was admitted to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar after he complained of severe chest pain, last late night. The ailing leader is being constantly observed by specialist doctors at ICU of the hospital. Syed Ali Gilani is under house arrest for the past several years and is not being allowed to move out of his residence. The APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Syed Ali Gilani’s condition was stable.

Resistance leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, visited Syed Ali Gilani at Soura hospital and enquired about his health. They prayed for early recovery of the towering Hurriyet leader.

On the other hand, the residents of Mantrigam in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, today, staged a protest demonstration against highhandedness of Indian army. The protestors blocked the Bandipora-Gurez road and said that the army harassed villagers and opened fire on a house of one Muhammad Maqbool Sheikh without any provocation and subjected inmates to inhuman torture.
