Mirpur:  (Parliament Times) The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement, Europe, Raja Najabat Hussain has said that a debate on the Kashmir dispute in the British Parliament will be held January 19.

He was addressing at a reception hosted in his honour by Chairman Khari Welfare Society Chaudhry Azhar Mahmood. The reception was also attended by Coordinator Welfare Society Fajar Rabia, Amoon Pasha, and leader of PML-N Fida Hussain Kiani, Former Director PID, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Information Officer Muhammad Javed Malik, Raja Sajjad Mahmood, Raja Abdul Rauf and others.

Raja Najabat Hussain said that the Chairman of All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir at the British Parliament (APPG), David Nuttall, MP and others members of the Parliament will debate on various aspects of Kashmir issue with special reference to gross violation of human rights of Kashmiri people by Indian forces. Terming it as breakthrough, Chairman JKSDM, urged Kashmiris settled in different parts of United Kingdom to stay in touch with their respective MPs and update them about the prevailing situation in Kashmir to make the parliamentary debate a big success. He said that the debate in January 19   would be the third such debate since 2010 till date and first time Kashmir group had taken the lead.

He congratulated David Nuttall and the whole APPG on this success. He also thanked the British Kashmiris for taking up the Kashmir dispute with their concerned MPs. “It is time now to lobby maximum Members of Parliament to attend the debate,” he added. He said, the Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement, Europe, has already started the campaign to write letters and hold personal meetings all over the UK.

Raja Najabat Hussain said it was for the first time in the history of British Parliament that Kashmir issue will be debated for about three hours, which is very significant development. He said that his organization Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement has been working for last five six years in UK and Europe with single objective to solicit support for Kashmiri peoples’ inalienable right to self determination. He said that European and British Members of the Parliament were interacted and convinced that Indian Occupation of Kashmir is immoral and illegitimate and that people of Jammu and Kashmir are victims of the Indian state terrorism.
