Muzaffarabad:  (Parliament Times)  A member of AJK cabinet and two members of Legislative Assembly announced to take up issue of inclusion of the subject of Kashmir studies in the curriculum in cabinet and Legislative Assembly.

Addressing a seminar organized by the department of Kashmir Studies and Kashmir Studies Forum of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Noreen Arif, Member Legislative Assembly Dr Mustafa Bashir and Chaudhry Shahzad Mahmood urged the administration of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University to play a proactive role for highlighting the Kashmir issue. They said that Pakistan’s all four provinces are giving great importance to promote their regional languages and announced same should be done here in Azad Kashmir by introducing and teaching the subject of subject of Kashmir Studies at schools, colleges and university level.

The speakers emphasized that universities in AJK has great responsibility to make Kashmir issue subject of their research and infused the spirit of freedom in the hearts and minds of the students. They also urged the students to highlight various aspects of Kashmir liberation struggle including the atrocities being committed by Indian forces by using the social media. Vice Chacellor of AJK Unioversity Khawaja Farooq Ahmed on the occasion announced to launch a campaign in the university in connection Kashmir Freedom Movement. AJK Minister for Social Welfare Noreen Arif was chief guest of the seminar while President Kashmir Studies Forum Khawaja Aqeel chaired the function. The seminar was also addressed by Vice Chacellor Prof Dr Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Director Kashmir Studies Mrs Ambreen Khawaja, Dr Sumaira and Sardar Muddasor Nawaz. Registrar of the University, Principal Officers, members of the faculty and large number of the students of the university attended the seminar.
