Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said all out efforts are being made to introduce reforms in the education sector to meet the challenges of the time.

Addressing a ceremony at a local school here on Wednesday, he said the government is giving top priority to the development of education sector in Azad Kashmir and evolve a comprehensive strategy to ensure quality of education.

Raja Farooq Haider said NTS system has been introduced by the sitting government to ensure merit and make the education sector free from political interference.

He said with introduction of national testing service (NTS) in AJK would ensure the primacy of merit and would help the education department to get rid of the curse of political meddling. He said for bringing the improvement in our education system we are introducing modern methods of teachings by providing necessary training to the teachers. He said literacy rate in AJK is better that other provinces of Pakistan which is encouraging sign.

Saying that a strong building could not be built on weak foundation, Farooq stressed the need for a strong focus on standard of primary education to establish the strong foundation of the students.  He said that constant and effective measures are needed for provision of quality education to children in schools. He said that provision of funds for promotion of quality education is a useful investment in the future of the State and there will be no shortage of resources for this purpose. AJK Minister for Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani,Chairman Kashmir School system Qazi Tariq,principal Sobia Kashif also addressed the students. The Prime Minister announced grant of Rs.2 lacs for the institution. At the end Prime Minister distributed awards among the students and appreciated the performance of the kids who demonstrated their fun in the function.

Earlier during the visit to Central Jail Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister  said Law Commission would be activated for the early disposal of all cases including civil and criminal .He said such  a system is to be introduced that culprit could be brought to justice.. He said all required resources would be utilized to make AJK police a modern force to deal with crimes and criminals. The Prime Minister said he has vision to establish a society where everyone could get social and economic justice.
