Srinagar, November 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has said that the people of Kashmir demand and fight for freedom from India to safeguard their race, culture and religion.
The leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar while referring to the assertions made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat that India was a Hindu Rashtra said that the words and all RSS actions testified Bhagwat’s statement. The leaders said that the RSS bigwigs were unmasking the deceitful face of the so-called democratic and secular India and as such justified the Kashmiris’ movement for freedom. The joint resistance leadership said, fascist forces like RSS are trying every weapon in their armory to occupy Jammu and Kashmir forcibly and militarily, but people of Kashmir have never accepted this unjust occupation.
Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Nahida Nasreen, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo in their statements said that Mohan Bhagwat’s claim about India being a Hindu country had justified the two-nation theory and legitimized Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s deep desire for creation of Pakistan.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in their separate statements condemned the use of brute force on the funeral procession of a youth, Rizwan Ahmad, by Indian forces’ personnel in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred a Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district. The troops killed the youth during a violent military operation in Nowgam area of the district.
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind in one of its several resolutions passed at its concluding 33rd General Session in Ajmer urged the Indian authorities to stop use of pellet guns and other lethal weapons against the protestors in occupied Kashmir. It also demanded a probe commission to punish guilty personnel of Indian armed forces.
