Bagh:(Parliament Times) AJK Minister for Information, Tourism and IT Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas has said that state cannot achieve progress and prosperity with the active participation of people.
Speak evolved to upgrade the existing infrastructure in the state. Minister Information said that developmental goals could not be achieved without the public participation for which a participatory development approach is being adopted in the liberated territory.
He appreciated the role of AJK Community Development Project in AJK and said that project is being extended for more six years at a cost of six billion rupees. Mushtaq Minhas urged the people to concentrate on agricultural development which is the great source of income generation in Azad Kashmir.
He said AJK can be turned into a fruit and food basket as the soil is fertile but unfortunately our rural communities don’t work hard and take proper care of their cultivable lands. We can increase productivity of land by adopting modern farming methods to cater our own food needs and to increase the household income.
He said AJK being land beautiful valleys, Grandeurs Mountains and abundant water resources has great potential to generate power and attract both domestic and foreign tourists if hydel and tourism sectors are properly developed and people made aware of the potential.
