Muzaffarabad: Kashmiris living on both sides of Line of Control, in Pakistan and abroad observed Black Day on Thursday to invite the attention of International community towards illegal Indian occupation in Jammu and Kashmir.

It was on this day in 1947 that Indian forces invaded Kashmir by landing its forces in Srinagar violating the partition plan of subcontinent.

In Azad Kashmir protest rallies and demonstrations were held at all Districts and Tehsil headquarters to mark the day.

In the State capital Muzaffarabad a big protest demonstration was held at Bank Road under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhary Barjees Tahir, Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, leaders of the social, political and religious organizations, APHC and people belonging to all walks of life participated in the protest demonstration.

Addressing on the occasion AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that it is matter of great joy that all the Kashmiri leadership keeping aside their political differences are united on Kashmir cause.

He said due to the continued aggressive designs of India, massive human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and unprovoked firing and shelling from across the LOC and Working Boundary, Kashmir has become now flash point and in the nuclear South Asia.

He said that Kashmiris are more powerful nation now and they better know how to achieve their destination, freedom of their motherland.

AJK Prime Minister appealed to all political parties of Pakistan to resolve their political differences through dialogue to strengthen Pakistan for the success of Kashmir cause.

Speaking on the occasion Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhary Barjees Tahir said that time is not far when Kashmiris would see the dawn of freedom of their motherland and India would have to give Kashmiris their internationally recognized right, right to self determination.

He reaffirmed Pakistan governments’ unequivocal stand to continue political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris birth right, right to self-determination.

He assured that people and government of Pakistan firmly stand with Kashmiri brethren and will never leave them alone.

Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman said that people and government of Gilgit Baltistan is standing shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethrens for their just cause.

He criticized the United Nation’s silence over Kashmir issue and urged the world body to play its due role in resolving longstanding dispute.

Meanwhile protest demonstration adopts various resolutions condemning Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir and demanded right to self determination for Kashmiris.
