Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) suspended the order of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) court while restoring the GB order 2018.
As per media reports, Three member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar held the hearing of the appeal plea by Federal government against the decision of GB court regarding GB order 2018 Wednesday.
During the hearing CJP remarked that the people of GB have same rights that the other citizens enjoy., Government should ensure that the citizens of GB get basic rights.
SC has accepted the petition of Federal government against the order of GB court and issued the notices to the parties concerned.
Federal government introduced a package for GB which was nullified by the Chief Appellate Court GB and issued a notice to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on contempt of court.
Federal government had implemented the GB order 2018.
