Lahore: As many as 500 workers en route to welcome former PM Nawaz Sharif on Lahore Airport have been arrested and shifted to jails and prisons while Deputy Inspector General(DIG) operations has said that not PLM-N workers but extremists have been arrested.
As per media reports, police stopped the convoy of PLM-N en route to Lahore from Sahiwal and released local MNA and MPA after negotiations while police have arrested and shifted 35 PLM-N workers creating muss.
Police also arrested more than 40 PLM-N workers from the area of Tandiwala Faisalabad while raiding and 42 from the different areas of Pak Pattan. More than 300 PLM-N workers have also been arrested and shifted to prisons in Lahore.
DIG Operations Lahore has said in this regard that Police only have arrested extremists not PLM-N workers for the sake of maintaining peace in the city.
