Islamabad:(Parliament Times) Terming Kishanganga power project as a flagrant violation of Indus Water Treaty, the president of Pakistan Peoples Party Ch. Latif Akbar has said that said India was diverting Pakistani waters in violation of the international covenants but the PML-N government has miserably failed to protect and safeguard the interests of the country in the face Indian water aggression.
The PPP president made these assertions while talking to journalist during an Iftar dinner at Islamabad press club on Thursday. The Iftar cum dinner party was attended by Haji Sardar M Yaqoob Khan former president AJK, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Matloob Inqilabi, Sardar Amjad Yousuf, Azhar Gilani, Azadar Hussain Kazmi, Sahibzada Zulfiqar, Shaheed Kousar Dar and others. Whereas senior journalists including the AKNS chief Amir Mehboob, Zahid Tabbasum, Javed Iqbal, Ejaz Abasi, Raja Kafeel, Ch. Tariq, Wiqar Sati were present on the occasion.
Referring to Indian aggression Akbar said that the government should raise this issue of construction of dams by India over different Rivers in the Occupied Kashmir effectively at international level.
