ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister and Chairman Planning Commission of Pakistan Ahsan Iqbal has said that development funds for Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan
would be further increased in the upcoming federal budget.
He was talking to the AJK Acting Prime Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq and Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafiz ur Rehman who called on him here on Thursday.
Ahsan Iqbal said that federal government is keen to develop both regions on modern lines and would extend full cooperation for the progress and prosperity of AJK and GB.
Ongoing development process in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upcoming budget for 2018-19 and other matters of mutual interest were also discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, AJK Acting Prime Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq said that state
government has accelerated pace of work on the all ongoing development projects
to ensure their completion in stipulated time.
He said AJK government has evolved a comprehensive strategy for the effective utilization of
development budget.
