Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Nadeem Aslam Chaudry has directed to expedite the pace and try to complete Model Cattle Market Gondal, District Attock by 31st January 2018 also make it operational soon after completion. He said that 70% work of building has been done yet and 03 out of 09 sheds have also been completed. 199 Million Rupees is being allocated for this Model Market which will be equipped with all the necessary facilities like cattle sheds, boarding and lodging for customers, fodder shop. Punjab government is striving hard to raise living standard and build capacity of the farming community as the government considered it as backbone of the national economy, he said, adding that the under-construction Model cattle Market will facilitate the farmers.
He shared these thoughts while talking to the meeting Board of Director of Cattle Market Management Company to review headway of Model Cattle Market Attock. Regional Police Officer Fakhar Sultan Wasal, MPA Iftekhar Warsi, Zafar Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Attock Rana Akbar Hayat, DC Jehlum Iqbal Hussain Khan. DC Chakwal Omer Jehnagir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Coordination Tariq Salam, ADC (F&P) Rao Atif Raza, Director Livestock Ghulam Hussain Bhutta, MD Cattle Market Muhammad Younis and other concerned officials were also present at the meeting.
Speaking at the occasion RPO Fakhar Wasal said that quality of construction work should also be inspected and no compromise should be made in this regard. He said that the market will hold both big and small animals while veterinary a hospital, dormitories for the livestock farmers, bank, restaurants, mosque, toilets, general dispensary, offices and other facilities have also been established. MPA Iftekhar Ahmed Warsi and Zafar Iqbal appreciated the infrastructure of the market for providing necessary facilities to the traders, breeders, livestock farmers and livestock lovers in organized manner. They said that the cattle market is aimed to save farmers from the huge prices charged by the contractors for sale/purchase of their cattle and hopefully this Model Market will serve the purpose quiet well. MD Cattle Market Muhammad Younis briefed the meeting about the progress of project and said that the market will be completely be made error free. He assured that remaining work will be completed within stipulated time with costing its standard.
