Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Member Legislative Assembly, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Abdul Qayyum called on Sardar Masood Khan, President AJK here at the Presidency in Muzaffarabad.
Matters of political and administrative significance; ongoing socio-development projects in AJK and the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir were discussed in detail. President AJK said that the Indian occupation forces had adopted barbaric tactics for instilling a sense of fear in the general populace of IOK by now resorting to braid chopping of innocent women and girls. India has tried its best to stifle the freedom movement of the Kashmiris by illegally imprisoning the Hurriyat leaders, murdering unarmed innocent protestors with live ammunition, dishonoring women, destroying properties and using pellet guns for blinding and maiming young men and women, said President Masood Khan.
The President said that attaining the right to self-determination is the just claim of every human being; and the Kashmiris will never give up on this struggle. The people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will always stand by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters providing them moral, political and diplomatic support, said President AJK.
President Masood said that the construction work on the Kohala Hydropower Project will be completed in time and will help overcome our energy requirements. He assured that the issues related to the land acquisition for the project will be resolved soon in the best interest of the local populace and addressing the reservations of the affectees will be prioritized.
Over the concerns raised in regards to the anticipated water scarcity to be faced in the state capital due to the diversion of waters from the Neelum River, the President said that water bodies and special water channels will be built to counter any water shortage in Muzaffarabad and also to maintain the ecological and biological balance in the region
