Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen held a protest demonstration at Gulshanpora in Tral town to express solidarity with the pellet victim boys and girls in the territory.Scores of women and children participated in the demonstration, which was led by KTK Chairperson, Zamruda Habib. The protesters were wearing black bandages and glasses over their eyes to express solidarity with those youth, who have lost their eyesight after being hit by pellets fired by Indian police and troops on protesters during the ongoing uprising.Addressing on the occasion, Zamruda Habib said that Kashmir was not a laboratory where India should test all its lethal weapons on innocent and unarmed people. “On the contrary, Kashmir is a dispute concerning future of millions of people,†she added. The KTK Chairperson called for settlement of the Kashmir dispute in a peaceful way to save the lives of millions of people in South Asia, as Kashmir, she added, is a nuclear flashpoint in the region. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement Acting Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem, in a statement in Jammu denounced the ban imposed by authorities on Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
He termed the action as intervention in religious matters of the people.
