Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Paying eulogizing tributes to the former AJK president Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Yosuf Shah for his socio-religious services, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that Mirwaiz dynasty has rendered unprecedented sacrifices during the ongoing freedom movement against Indian occupation.
The AJK PM made these assertions while addressing a function held in connection with death anniversary of Mirwaiz Muhammad Yusuf Shah here on Tuesday. Besides the KLC Director Sajad Khan, the function was addressed by Uzair Ghazali of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Mushtaq ul Islam, Zahid Amin Kashif the chairman of city development foundation, Shoukat Ganai Advocate and others.
He said that the deceased leader along with his other associates and co-workers had fought valiantly against the fascism of national conference in the valley. He said Mirwaiz was the most revered politico-religious leader and a staunch freedom activist who took hold of Pakistani flag in Kashmir during difficult times. He said that following the footsteps of Mirwaiz Milat, Moulvi Muhammad Farooq laid down his life for the noble cause. “And now Mirwaiz Umer Farooq is playing a significant and leadership role in the ongoing freedom struggleâ€, he said.
Khan observed that India by the dint of force can not keep Kashmiris in bondage for a long time saying that time was not far when Kashmiris would achieve the cherished goal of freedom from Indian subjugation for which they offered matchless sacrifices. He said that Kashmiris’ young generation including the brave daughters of Kashmir, have now come on to the streets to fight Indian army. “In order to complete Azan Kashmiris way back in 1931 took bullets on their chests and even today they have been braving the bullets to seek freedom from India’s illegal occupationâ€, he said.
The AJK PM on the occasion denounced the unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC). Lauding the sacrifices rendered by the people living in the villages next to to the ceasefire line he said that appropriate steps would be taken to address the issues of the LoC firing victims. He said that the government would also utilize all available resources for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri refugees.
Earlier the Prime Minister visited the mausoleums of former AJK president K H Khursheed and Mirwazi Moulvi Muhammad Yusuf Shah, offered Fateh and laid Chadar [cloth] on the graves of two eminent leaders of Kashmir movement.
